When Laying Underfloor Heating In A Bathroom, Is It Possible To Leave?

the element covered for a few days before tiling the floor. The engineer wants to lay the heating, but my husband is unable to lay the tiles for two days.
What advice can you give me please. Such as is it okay to lay cardboard over the top of the heating until ready for tiling.

it shoud be ok if your very careful, if not use self leveling compound over the top of it, this will also give you a better surface to tile onto and you wont ruin the elements when laying the tiles
    good luck.
