whenever i do things everything have to be perfect.
like when i eat say I’m eating cereal, like the amount that i eat has to be even in my mouth like i have to have two pieces on the left side and two on the right. When im walking its the same if its a tile floor my feet have o be even on the tiles and stuff.
Getting sleep is hard for me because i will just lay awake all night and just think about everything, which often makes me think of the negatives of everything like mine and my boyfriends relationship up and downs and i tend to get depressed. I just feel like its taking over my life and its annoying.
is there anything i can do?
if i were to go to the doctor would they be able to do anything?
i dont want counseling or therapy.

What are some really durable floor choices for high traffic areas and also wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens? We need to remodel, and I heard that Pergo wasn’t good in wet areas.

We are remodelling our kitchen, and are getting cabinets and a counter in a colour similar to the link below (not our house, but looks something we found on the net that is similar to what we want). The counter will be giallo ornamental granite, and the cabinets will be maple stained to a medium brown/red colour. Our kitchen is small (we won’t have an island), but has a large south facing window so there is a lot of light.
We are looking for ideas for backsplash and floor tiles. We definitely don’t want ceramic, as we want something a bit more natural, but we don’t like the look of travertine (with filled in holes). We’d like to have a bit darker coloured tile (both floor and backsplash) than those pictured in the link, but are totally open to suggestions.

I had to delete my previous question because after getting my first response I realize that how it was worded made me come off as a complete idiot and it was worded wrong. So, here I go again this time I’ll be more careful on how I word it. LMAO
I realize now after being in our home for almost 7yrs. that there’s things about the house that I would love to put on the home improvement list. I’d have an arms length of projects to take care of. Like so many others, it’s just not in the budget! What would you do with your home that you’ve been wanting to do for a long time but, unable to due so due to it not being within the budget?
This is my home improvement list:
Tear up all the carpeting and lay down flooring~ hard wood/tile
More counter space in the kitchen
repair some of the dents, bad patch job under the paint jobs from previous owners, tear down the wallpaper and paint.
New Windows~ the woodwork on our windows outside is horrible weather has beaten them up.
Better lawn- there’s so many rocks and the grass feels like sharp straw instead of a nice green full plush lawn that’s not patchy or rocky
New Window treatment down the road as we have a toddler so, as you can tell a lot of stuff would have to wait anyways until he’s older even if the money was there. LOL

Is this how it’s supposed to be? I’ve only worked with shelter cats, but have spent hours grooming each one, and they were never as soft as my 10 month old cat’s fur…
He’s just a black (white spot on his belly, haha) domestic short hair, former shelter cat. His coat is really fine, no real undercoat to speak of. It still looks fluffy, healthy, shiny, and velvety. My grandpa calls him “the velvet panther”, haha.
I know that shiny is generally good, but is it normal to be lacking a thicker undercoat? I’ve never actually taken the time to inspect a cat’s fur that closely… My other 7 month old cat is a short-haired tiny little ball of fluff.
(I adopted him back in October, and his coat was even thinner, as he was smaller, even througout the cold Chicago-winter weather…He’s never cold or anything. Loves to lay on the cool tile floor.)
I’m not like, overly-concerned about it, I’m just curious! Haha.

Looked into finishing a 500 sq foot basement and can’t afford it right now. I was wondering if it’s something I can do myself, however. E.g., I’m somewhat handy, though don’t have a great deal of experience, but it seems like a relatively simple thing to lay subfloor and then tile or pergo, and hang drywall. Getting a ceiling up concerns me a bit, and i’d need an electrician for the wiring, but for the most part it seems like I can do the bulk of the work myself. Is this overambitious? My basement is pretty dry so I’m not concerned about moisture problems. I know this is sort of a vague question; i just generally want to know whether setting up floors/walls/a ceiling; all very basic, is particularly tricky or something the average person can do with enough research and some elbow grease.
