Ok so we are refinishing my grandmothers basement. One half of the basement was previously used as a bedroom and has tile flooring put down the other half is just concrete. She wants to lay carpet on the side with concrete and I need help figuring out what type of carpet padding I should be looking at and about what the price range would be. The space is 14 x 17. Thank you ahead of time!
instead of digging down, putting down some backing, sand and then gravel. Just, using some kind of retaining wall on both sides, lay the above items right on the ground? I was thinking of using railroad tiles as the retainer.
any websites? I live in calif. are there spanish style bathroom/kitchen cabinets?
I want to replace the carpet with tiles. any spanish tiles in calif?
how about the curtains?
thanks in advance
Im 13 and were redoing our basement-with some bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room area. My dad is doing it with my grandpa (who used to be a contractor, but hes 82 and cant do much work), except for the electrical and plumbing. Weve started to work on the bathroom, and i can see by the tile that was laid down that it looks really bad already and he doesn’t want to fix it. Our house was built really cruddy though so it affects it, but im sure everything is going to look really crappy when its done and my dad doesnt want to hire a contractor because he “thinks he can handle it” but he has no idea what hes doing at all. I dont want to tell him that because it could hurt my grandpas feelings too but theyre fixing it up so i have my own room and hangout area but i dont want it all crappy. If i tell him that we should get a contractor hell also say theres not enough money for one BUT DAD THERES MONEY FOR THE BASEMENT if theres money for the basement theres also money for contractor.
Hi, I am looking at remodeling my house this spring, and we are looking to find the best kitchen remodeling company in the metro area. I want either Eropean cabinets, or flush cabinets. We are looking for the highest quality, and cost is no factor. Can anyone reccomend some Cabinet companies in the area, that can proved high quality customer service, and outstanding craftsmanship?
Thank you.
i want to start my own business laying laminate floors, carpet, fitting tiles ect., do i need a citificate to say i can do this or can i just buy a cheap van get a supplier, insurance ect. and off i go?? please help, thanks.
As far as retail businesses in this town we have…a coffee shop, a book store, a sports restaurant, a computer dr shop, beauty shop, barber shop, antique shop, handmade wood products shop, kitchen remodeling store, gas station, privately owned drug store, pizza place, a formal dress shop, men’s store, and a small furniture store. Nearby is a small mall and Walmart. Any ideas in the “niche” market?
Thanks!
I had a tiler in to price laying ceramic tiles after we had a water burst last week in my parents house.
they had lino on the kitchen floor and when we took it up we found the remains of some very old vinyl tiles and what looks like stuck on lino from years back..
The guy who is comming to do the new job has a good reputation
and wants me to remove “as much of the problem as possible
i have been scraping away like hell for the past hour with some success…but was wondering if there were any shortcuts or tipsI could use to get the offending material off.
Also would the remains of the glue affect the way the new tile adhesive would work or the grout.
Will continue with my scraping and check back in a while for answers …..HELP…..
I am worried that if I dont get rid of all the black gluey guk the new adhesive wont stick…. will it affect it….the tiler didnt seem to be too worried when he saw it.? There is about 5 square meters of it that I can see so far !!
I don’t want to go to the expense of new wood ones at this time, I’m remodeling elsewhere, but a fresh update until I remodel the kitchen.
i want to tile my kitchen floor with ceramic tiles but there are marley tiles down already they are all fixed well and not loose ,so what would be the best adhesive to use to lay my new ceramic tiles with?
