I have just completed a remodel in our kitchen and we added tile as well as scratching some. We have not only color variation but rough scratches. Can someone help me?
We are remodelling our kitchen, and are getting cabinets and a counter in a colour similar to the link below (not our house, but looks something we found on the net that is similar to what we want). The counter will be giallo ornamental granite, and the cabinets will be maple stained to a medium brown/red colour. Our kitchen is small (we won’t have an island), but has a large south facing window so there is a lot of light.
We are looking for ideas for backsplash and floor tiles. We definitely don’t want ceramic, as we want something a bit more natural, but we don’t like the look of travertine (with filled in holes). We’d like to have a bit darker coloured tile (both floor and backsplash) than those pictured in the link, but are totally open to suggestions.

i’m doing a kitchen remodel and looking for good prices on kitchen floor tile.
When we remodeled our kitchen 3 years ago, we were told we needed to put down cement backerboard before the vinyl could be installed (to insure proper warranty of the vinyl). So we did. Now we would like to replace the vinyl with ceramic tile. Can we simply remove the vinyl and use the existing backerboard to install the tile on? We want a quality tile job, but would like NOT to have to take up the backboard and put down new backerboard.

We are remodeling a house we just bought – I found my dream floor, but now I still have to pick out cabinet and counter and appliances. This has been my whole summer dilemma and I have to chose, We are moving in next week – (with out a kitchen because of me and my decision making). We are remodeling our kitchen floor with white marble tile. The tiles have streaks of grey through them. I don’t think we want white grout, but is grey appropriate?
I’m remodeling my kitchen and there was tile on the walls… Well, it wasn’t really tile, it was a plastic tile-looking product glued to the walls with something similar to thinset, but not exactly — it’s from the 1950s. What do I have to do to get the wall prepared for new tile? The surface is too rough now, at least that’s what people are telling me. Can I apply a new layer of thinset over this adhesive stuff and tile or do I need to do something to prepare the walls?
I have a kitchen with ceramic tile that is a sick grey color. I’ve remodeled the kitchen and the grey ceramic tile floor just doesn’t go well. I’d like to paint it but have no idea what paint to use or if it is practical to even paint it. Is it possible or do I just need to live with it?
I saw this on tv once. It was a metallic (?) tray that sits on the counter. You put your food on it, and it thaws it in a matter of minutes. It wasn’t a machine, no batteries or plugging. Required no heat, but gathered heat from the surrounding air to thaw the food. The idea was that you could make a last minute dinner choice, and also prevent illness with meat laying around to thaw…without that partial cooking around the edges as from a microwave.
I would love a review if you have one, as well as a link, or even if you can remember the product’s name to look it up myself.
