I’m Trying To Take Up The Residual “thinset” Mortar Left Under Some 16″ Tiles Over Concrete…
What’s the best way to get the thinset, mortar, grout lines up so the floor is smooth enough to lay new flooring ( hardwood)?

We laid new laminate in a kitchen and during the remodeling process blotches of paint have dried on the new floor. Some we have scraped off, other spots are being stubborn.

Here are a few of my poems, just the ones I have saved on the computer I have a notebook full haha. Tell me what you think please<3
Painted over.
Fine bristles explode with color,
Outlining your soul.
As for me a silhouette,
Of a winter's day so cold.
My shadow with blurry edges,
Cast on the desolate snow.
If you could only feel the void,
You would fill my palette so.
A dab of color will brighten the day,
I swear to you it's true.
And you're the only one
That can paint my gray skies blue.
AS TIME PASSES.
Time embraces the world
thrusts it to the ground
We sit here void of emotion
making not a sound
It ages us inevitably
someday we all must die
Days fade to black
the light passes us by
BROKEN.
Harsh fists bear heavily,
Against her fragile skin.
She kicks and screams,
But cannot win.
Tears streak her face,
She cannot talk.
She runs for the door,
But it is locked.
Drunken fists press her
To the cold white wall,
Pain envelopes her
Helplessly she falls.
Now she lays motionless
on this bitter tile floor,
Bloody and beaten,
She can't take much more.
CANCER.
The theif comes silently
Without an introduction.
Penetrating your soul.
Having no empathy.
Showing no remorse.
It cannot be eradicated.
You feel as though,
Faith abandoned you.
Along with your body,
Which lays motionless.
Under the firmly pressed sheets,
In your eternal prison.
As you lay with lines etched,
Across your pale face.
Darkness surrounds you,
You can no longer see the light.
Despair envelopes you,
Your breaths are becoming shorter.
You long for the day
The disease will release you
to heaven where you will finally
be cured of it forever.
LOVE YET UNSPOKEN
Two souls———intertwined
by one shared love. They gleam
into the other's eyes. hands
clasped tightly together.
words not needed
to express this
bond.
**my first concrete poem**
Asphyxiation.
Silent screams fill me,
With anguished thoughts.
My soul's tainted with rust.
Decaying with rot.
Hands trembling,
I struggle to breathe.
Trapped in this body,
There's no way to leave.
Asphyxiated, Choking,
I cannot see straight.
The light slowly dims,
I suffocate.
Pictures in the Sky.
I reside in the lavish grass
Gleaming up entranced.
At the sky, oh so brisk.
It unfolds gently
Bearing white mist so pure
Parading across the sky.
Like actors on a stage
Wonderful caricatures
As depicted to a child's eye.
Drowning in Lies
Choking on tears,
Drowning in lies.
Trying to swallow,
These soft suddle cries.
I reach for the surface,
Gasping for air.
The water's too thick,
Black with despair.
Tendrils of lies,
Holding me back.
Entangling around me,
A silent attack.
Buried
Desperate and confused,
What I loved is gone.
I trudge along in the cold,
Wondering what went wrong.
Tears freeze before falling,
Chills run down my spine.
The Earth encased in white,
Looking so divine.
But underneath the beauty,
Of this arctic barren place.
Lay memories from last summer,
I'd give anything to erase.
Frostbite's setting in,
I don't know where to go.
For this summer love,
Is now buried in the snow.
Tears of Blood
I press the cool shiny blade
To my scarred arm.
I watch it slice deeply,
Tearing flesh from bone.
Tears of blood trickle
And run off my fingertips.
I glance at the blade.
Stained crimson with blood.
Slowly I lose conciousness.
My veins run dry.
My blood runs cold.
My soul bids me goodbye.
Leaving behind a mangled body,
Along with this arm-
An artwork of Picasso.
Falling
My lonely lost soul,
Now tied down by chains.
All hope is destroyed,
By a heart in disdain.
My shadow's edges,
Are depleted and blurred.
The pain penetrates,
My voice becomes slurred.
My thoughts are null,
Of sympathetic remorse.
My mind's closing in on me,
It keeps getting worse.
I'm empathic with hate,
And fear I can't fight.
My vision is hazy,
I'm losing my sight.
Darkness surrounds me,
I can no longer see.
Despair envelops me,
I'm gasping to breathe.
Void of emotion,
I make not a sound.
All hope leaves me quietly,
As I fall to the ground.
Cold and lifeless,
I lay on the floor.
I'm now in fate's hands,
I fear what's in store.
I am only 13 so please judge these according to the cababilities of a 13 year old, not an adult. thank you =) and if you like them, tell me and I'll post more.
We are remodeling the kitchen and would like to give our dishwasher to charity. Salvation Army would not take it.
I live in Florida and I swear the people here have no compassion whatsoever !!!! My cat is sick so I called the first ER Vet clinic that popped up on my google search
Hope & Happiness Animal Hospital – maps.google.com
510 S Highland Ave, Clearwater – (727) 447-4949
As soon as I mentioned about possible payment arrangements he said “we dont do that type of business” and hung up on me. I ended up finding an ER clinic close by so I called them and the lady told me its $85 for an exam so I took him there and she told me my cat is really sick and that she wanted to run tests to find out whats going on with him, then she came back with a list of at least 20 tests which would cost $1,059 I cant afford that. I called the SPCA this morning and my only option with them is to surrender the cat and they will cure him and adopt him out or kill him. Hmmmm I dont trust them at all. My cat is about 6 yr old maybe 7 and he is the cutest animal iv ever owned (I will try to add a pic) anyway iv noticed that lately he has been panting like a dog and laying around a lot, he has long hair and throws up hairballs or sometimes just brownish liquid, sometimes he throws up his food but I thought that was because he ate to fast. He has started looking shabby, lost weight, not tking care of his fur, the ER clinic says he has lost muscle mass and he just wants to lay on the tile in my kitchen. He is eating and drinking and going to the bathroom and still purs when I hold him but no vet anywhere in the state of Florida cares, they are all about business. What should I do I feel so helpless, my money situation is paycheck to paycheck right now.
I have an older bungalow & want to remodel the kitchen. The house is only 840 square feet. Currently, the dining room and kitchen are seperated by a normal-sized doorway, so the dining room area is more formal. The dining room & living room are open with a cool open arch between the two rooms adding architecural detail. I was thinking of taking out the wall between the dining room & kitchen which would open up the space so the living room, dining room & kitchen were more open. Would you suggest doing this, or would it be better to keep the space as it is to leave some sense of different rooms since it’s such a small space?
My husband and I have a small handyman service. He looked at the job and gave a price on the job and I typed up a estimate
and she was given it and she told him this was fine.
After my husband started the job she added more and change what he was doing she when from carpet to laying tile and added some other small jobs as the job went on. The whole time telling him she would take care of.
Anyway at the end of the job I sent her a bill of $2030.00 which was a lot less then the places I call for prices for laying 37 boxes of tile the lowest I got was 35,000. Just for the tiles not the other stuff he did for her.
She gave him 500 dollars and told him she would pay him the rest the next day now she told him she was not giving him any more money.
My question is can we put a lien on her business till she pays and how do you get a lien ?
I am thinking of keeping my vanity and redoing it but I need to get a new tile floor in. It appears that the vanity is under the old flooring. How much more will it cost to have the installer take up the vanity to put in flooring and then put back or is this something a plumber needs to do? Or to make it easy as possible, I could donate the vanity to ReStore and have a new one installed once the flooring is laid. Not sure what is the best way to go. Any ideas?
depende on if its a partial remodel or full remodel, depends on if you contract out or do it yourself. i remodeled my kitchen in about 2 weeks. it was a partial remodel and i did the work myself.
