Seff Levelling Surface Over Ceramic Floor Tiles ?

we have a house on stumps and the soil is reactive clay, which means the soil dries out and can push some of the stumps up, causing a hump.
The previous owner laid tiles on the floor which have cracked.
As most of these tiles have been laid directly to particle board flooring, removal of the tiles isn’t really an option. Plus he used about twice as much tile cement !
We bought vinyl flooring and have been advised to put some sort of coating on the floor to level it, then lay the vinyl.
This coating will need to have some sort of flex or it will crack. (Feather touch was suggested)
As this is caused by the lack of moisture in the soil due to the ongoing drought here in Australia, this is going to be an ongoing problem.
Any suggestions gratefully received !
As we are running out of money, if anyone can suggest some sort of coating we could do ourselves that would be a complete finish, and not lay the vinyl, that would be fantastic !

Wall Surface For Tiles?

I’m in the process of re-tiling my bathroom and when I took the old tiles off some of the old grout stayed on the walls or in some areas messed up the dry wall surface.
I’m looking for recommendations of how to either remove the old grout from the wall, or how to smooth the surface over the area in order to lay the new tiles. Suggestions?

Question About Surface Preparation For Laying Kitchen Tile.?

I recently removed and installed new 1/4inch plywood in our kitchen floor. We have already purchased enough self-sticking 1foot square vinyl floor tiles to cover the area. The question is, is there any sort of surface preparation to do before we lay them down? I have had people tell me about filling in the seams if they are more than 1/4 inch wide between plywood boards. Also, does the adhesive on the tiles stick to plywood well? Or should adhesive be applied in addition?

House was built in 2005, whoever laid tile did a lousy job and there is grout on the tile surface in places. The seller said to use a butter knife to scrape it off, that will take about a year, I think.
