Peel And Stick Lino Tiles..?

I bought a house to be rented out, and have finished all but the kitchen floor. I bought these peel and stick tiles as a cost efficient alternative to having someone come and lay lino. The current (very ugly) lino on the floor is in good condition save a few corners that are lifting. I don’t know what is under this old lino, but am thinking of screwing the corners down (making sure the screws are flush) and then adhering these new tiles directly onto old lino. Should I be doing this, or removing the existing first??? Are these tiles going to lift?? The man at Home Depot said I should use this glue as wellt to stick them down, but glue is VERY thick, doesn’t spread and there’s a visible raise where I’ve put it (tested one). HELP!

Removed Stick Tiles In Bathroom To Find Black Mold On The Plywood! Please Help!!?

Me again… Another problem with recently purchased house. Pulled up, poorly laid stick on vinyl bathroom tiles and found BLACK MOLD under them. I immediatly washed all down with bleach as I thought this would help kill bacteria. But now what do I do? I was told to paint over the plywood with Kilnz as it seals and kills bacteria.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and please put it in woman/10 year old daughter terminolgy otherwise it won’t make a bit of sense to me…:) Sorry, this whole remodeling thing is new to me. Oh, did I mention it will have to be something I can do on my own as I can’t afford to hire anyone at the moment, well and probably for a lot of moments to come. :( Thank you so much, any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day! :)

What Do I Use To Stick Down Slate Tiles For My Log Fire Hearth?

Hi there,
I’m at the last stages of having my Log Fire place up and running which is exciting but before I screw my Cast Iron Fire Surround to the chimney breast I need to lay the slate tiles on the floor that I am using for my fire hearth… My question is….
What do I need to use to stick these slate tiles down (I know that you can’t just use Tile Grout due to the heat of the log fire so I could do with some help from you)
Thank you for your time

Peel And Stick Removal.?

We’re going through the process of remolding a home that we have just purchased. In the entrance way there is peel and stick tiles on the floor. Whoever did them is entirely brain dead. They didn’t remove the heater from the wall to lay the peel and stick tiles properly. Now in some places there are gaps on 1/2 inch to an inch from the correctly laid tiles to what they have put under the heater. Any way to pull those tiles up to lay new one’s of the same pattern in they’re place? Any help is great. Hoping someone who had this problem before will share their ecperinces as do’s and don’t.

Can You Use Vinyl Stick Tiles Like Ceramic Tiles?

Meaning, I was just wondering if you can lay a thin set of mortar then place vinyl tiles on it, and then grout it? This mabye a stupid question and most people would say why not just use real tile if your going to go through all that trouble, but just wondering?.
Thanks

What Is The Best Way To Get Vinyl Tiles To Stick?

The house is extremely old and we are laying the peel & stick tiles in a spare bedroom. We bought the tiles from lowes and the flooring in the bedroom is wood. (VERY OLD) We cleaned it good and ensured no snags or nails but a day after we layed it several pieces look like they are coming up around the corners. Any ideas on how to make them stick? Any substances we can put underneath to give extra adhesive? I was going to do this to another room and don’t want this to happen again????

Where Is The Best Place To Start Laying Peel And Stick Tiles?

I’ve done some looking into it and am receiving conflicting advice.
Some say to start at an edge to avoid half peices.
Others say to start in the middle of the longest expanse. (which in my case would be the middle of the hallway that runs the length of the house ) for a uniform look?
I intend to do all of my main floor rooms which includes front living room, hallway with two bedrooms off it, kitchen and bathroom off kitchen?

Laying Peel And Stick Vinyl Tile?

We recently purchased a home and are wanting to lay peel and stick vinyl tile in the kitchen. I was told to clean the pre-existing floor ( I don’t really know what it is…some sort of dark green and ugly tile) with ammonia, to remove any left behind wax or grime. The adhesive on it isn’t really great, so I would also like to use some vinyl glue (I believe this is called thin set) along with the glue that is already on them. I was told we needed to start in the center of the room. To do this, do I measure from wall to wall to find out where my exact center is, or do I measure the floor itself, leaving out the cabinets? I also have a little cubby area for the fridge. I don’t really care if this is straight or not since it is covered up. Thanks for your help!

Installing Peel And Stick Tiles?

We just bought a house and the bathroom tile looks terrible. Its not in bad shape, I just dont like the ugly floral pattern. Since we had to spend a lot of money on other projects in the house we dont have a lot to spend on re-tiling, The bathroom is small, about 5ftx4ft of floor, so I thought peel&stick would be a good option. The tiles currently on the floor are peel and stick, should I remove them all before I apply the new ones? or can I just give them a good cleaning and lay the new tiles over them?
