I am remodeling my kitchen/dinning room and bought IC recessed lights to put in. I only have about a 1/2 inch of space above the lighting unit. Is this enough space between the second floor and the lighting unit?

Well obviously you will want to place lights along the walls so that you can light up pictures or to highlight cabinets that may contain display items. Dont forget the dimmer switch so you can control the mood in the room.
Kitchen overheads are best placed directly over the counter top and stove area. You’ll appreciate this when your chopping onions real fine.
