I’ve just had timber floors laid in one of the rooms, the rest of the house having porcelain tiles. There are all sorts of stains on the porcelain tiles that are not coming off including the moisture seal, stain for the timber, paint and gloss. I’ve tried methylated spirits, baking soda and bleach. Nothing seems to work. Please help me.
i have bought new porcelain tiles for my hall way i have lay ed them down today the problem is that i cant seem to get the wax of the tiles to get the shine on them i have only used warm water and a cloth but no luck i have not grouted them yet as i was told to seal them First any ideas on how to remove the wax

We have recently had dark grey rough matt porcelain tiles laid on our kitchen floor (they look like slate). Unfortunately our builder has done a runner, resulting in our new tiles looking an absolute mess. They are covered in oil paint in parts and general whitish cloudy stains.
I have attempted scrubbing the tiles with floor cleaner and elbow grease (no luck), white spirit on the paint bits (no luck), scratching the paint off with a razor-type blade (similar to those you use on ceramic hobs), but nothing will shift.
Can anyone please advise? The tiles look about 10 years old, even though they are brand new, and I’m desperate to get them cleaned up! Tis very frustrating….

We just laid a 12″ porcelain tile floor. We now need to grout using sanded grout. HOW do you do that. I have the grout tools with the sponge applicator and all but I am just not sure HOW to do it.
Do you put the grout into the grooves with a putty knife and then smooth out with the tools or what?
How long before you can walk on the tile after grout…
I sure appreciate any help you all can give me.

Because I know travertine costs more. But I want to know if it’s worth it to get. I know it’s a different method used to lay as opposed to porcelain and ceramic tiles, right?

I have laid some metalic looking porcelain tiles on my bathroom floor.
They look great, but they stain very easily with water marks etc.
Apart from covering with bath mats, could anyone advise how I could keep them clean?
Can i install it on a wood subfloor? there is plywood then some plastic tile then a 1/4 inch subfloor that it will lay on top of.
when i install in in a tub surround do i put it straight on the green board? is it ok to install it straight on “drywall mud” or do i have to prime the walls?
ive just bought porcelain tiles from b&q and heard they have to be sealed before laying then going on to the web one site says that they dont require sealing does anybody know before i start laying them and can they be layed side to side or do i have to put tile spacer between them theres some confusing issuesas one site says you have to one site says you dont
I have just laid some white porcelain tiles from b&q in my kitchen. There were no instructions on the packet about sealing before/after grouting. Last night i started to grout them with brown porcelain grout and it has completely ruined the tiles as there are stains all over them! I was and am very upset by this. Does anyone know of the grout stains can be removed or do i have to retile?
