I am trying to sell my house and I need to do some light remodeling. How much do you think it would cost to do the following:
- Stain 850 square feet of hardwood floors.
- Add a laundry/utility room on to the back of the house.
- 50 square feet of porcelain tile.
- Paint around 1000 square feet worth of walls.
- Scrape the popcorn ceiling.
- Lay new sod in my backyard (200 square feet)
If anyone can answer any of these, it can be just an estimate, but I would really appreciate it.
Ok so we are refinishing my grandmothers basement. One half of the basement was previously used as a bedroom and has tile flooring put down the other half is just concrete. She wants to lay carpet on the side with concrete and I need help figuring out what type of carpet padding I should be looking at and about what the price range would be. The space is 14 x 17. Thank you ahead of time!
I recently remodeled my kitchen. I had issue’s with the contractor…long story short my wall jack ended up in a very inconvenient location. I would like to move it myself especially cause the contractor left the kitchen 70% complete. Luckily I can get to all the wiring under my house it’s just that where the light switch should go there is an outlet below it and if I am not mistaken it’s in the same circuit. Thanks in advance
OK, I have a 13-14 yr old female Golden, Heather, a 4-5 yr old female Great Dane, Princess, and a 6-7 month old male Pug/Malteaze (I probably didn’t spell that right) mutt, Rascal.
My first problem is with Rascal. He urinates everywhere. He does have blatter control. He’s proven that by holding it when he’s on tile, or when an adult is there, but the instant he is on carpet, and he doesn’t think an adult isn’t there, he’ll go whenever. He doesn’t even stop to squat or lift his leg(like he’ll do outside) he’ll go while running around, jumping, laying down. The only reason I know he does half of this is because he’ll do it infront of my lil sister, the spots I keep on having to clean up, and the guilty look he gives me when he knows he’s in trouble. I’m not sure what to do, he had better control when I first got him.
He also won’t stop barking, it’s gotten to the point I’ve been thinking about having his voice box removed but I really don’t want to do that. I’ve tried using one of those collars that sprays a lemon scent in his face when he barks. He didn’t like it, but he barked anyway. He killed the battery on the thing in a matter of days. I really need help with this one as I need to be able to sleep at night.
I also can’t walk him because he’ll suffocate himself. H’s pulls on the leash so much that he chokes himself and he’ll do it till he drops. He’s done that ever since I got him 4 months ago.
Next is my Great Dane. Princess is a great guard dog and very smart. The problem is that she likes to run off. She’s already figured out how to get out of a harness and choke chain, and she keeps on breaking chain leashes. She’ll come back to the house within ten minutes and then will try to hide because she knows she wasn’t supposed to do it.
She’ll also raid the trash and counters when people aren’t looking, and will once again try to hide when we find the mess. We’ve tried a shock collar on her, but she just shakes off the shock.
Lastly there’s Heather, my old girl. She’s a good girl, she just has a licking habbit. She’ll lick her paws bleeding raw. I’ve tried bitter apple, hot peppers and a number of other thing, but she likes them all. I bandage her up but she rips them off.
I think I got the basics of it all, if there’s anything else someone would like to know about their behavior I’d be happy to answer. I just really need help.
Can the floor of a 15-foot by 20-foot rectangular den be completely covered with whole tiles which are 8-inch squares?
If so, how many of these will be needed? Draw a picture to show how they would be arranged.
If the floor cannot be completely covered with whole tiles, what is the maximum number of whole tiles that can be laid on the floor? Draw a picture to show how this maximum number could be arranged?
***Please show me how you got your answer 10 POINTS!
I am remodeling my kitchen and I have the granite picked out. It is Saphire Blue. It has a mix of colors in it…blue, black and a sandstone (orangy-brown). I also have cabinets that are a light maple color with a coffee glaze. I picked out tile for the floor and a tile backsplash that will really bring out the sandstone color in the granite. I was thinking of painting my walls a bluish gray to bring out the blues in the granite but am wondering if that is too dark of a color for a kitchen. Any advice on wall colors would be greatly appreciated. Please help!!
I am remodeling my kitchen and I need some help with lighting! My kitchen is appox. 150 square feet. Hi everyone,
I live in the state of Missouri and I am currently expecting twins this fall. After evaluating our income we have realized the most we could afford is two per week for both children. 200 only! We make a decent amount of money but, have a lot of debt out, schools loans, car loans, kitchen loan (remodeling) and everything else. So we are not sure what we could do.!!!!
The first place I would like to go is Rio de Janeiro. “Brazilians say that God created the world in six days and on the seventh day he created Rio. Rio – “The Marvelous City” – embraces one Atlantic Ocean with its famous beaches like Copacabana, Ipanema, and Leblon, a paradise on Earth! That remains to be seen…it is the location, the tropical climate, The Samba and Schools and of course the world famous Carnival Ceremonies that have given Rio de Janeiro its image of a heavenly place on earth. In contrary, to what the names suggests, the city was not foundation next to a river, but is (Located at a bay).
Rio de Janeiro is one the most spectacular cities on the planet. In Rio they have a fantastic sight called “Christ The Redeemer” on Corcovado Mountain, which gives an even higher perspective, and is the most well-known and recognized landmark of Rio. Another sight seeing is for any true football (soccer) fan, a visit to the Maracana stadium is a required pilgrimage, where you can lay your feet in the imprints of those belonging to the great pele and many other legends. Also the nightlife in Rio is like the city that throws the world’s largest party doesn’t go into hibernation after Ash Wednesday. Rio has a vibrant music and arts scene: classical music and opera, art-house cinema, laid back jazz and chorinho spots, open-air bars, over-the top Samba clubs, and throbbing night clubs. The current social climate in Rio has given the Cariocas-The Residents of the City- a unique way of living.
Watching all these gorgeous bodies passing by all day long, already gives you the feeling you have arrived in Heaven. Even though tolerance has grown over the past years, the numerous villages and towns that surround Rio de Janeiro are certain worth visiting. If you have time it is advisable to take excursions to small colonial towns, like Parachior Buzios and The Saint Tropez of Brazil. The biggest unifying feature for Cariocas (as Rio’s residents are known) is video is wide sandy beaches. In fact a 60-mile stretch of hedonistic pleasure is yours for the asking. Sunning, Swimming, Flirting or just plain relaxing is a daily event Oceanside. There is a beach that caters to everyone. Copacabana and Ipanema are just two that are world famous. Some of the others such as Praia do Diablo (Devil’s Beach) or the far-flung grumari offer solitude and specialized activities.
Walking to Ipanema is easy and worth while. It is also where the, “Girl From” found. A large black and white tile walk way called the (Calcadoa) provides, a great place for people to watch. Ipanema is also remarkable for restaurante and bars. The beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema are lit at night making them much safer than in years past. Needless to say if seaside is your Rio goal, it’s easily found. No doubt, when you think about Brazil, Rio will come first in your mind. And yes, you should really believe it. Rio can be the first step of your trip in Brazil.
With around 6 million inhabitants, one of Rio’s most precious resources is often overlooked: its people. Brazil is a melting pot of races, colors and creeds. No one race, color or religion dominates in Brazil. There is room for all, and that includes the many visitors who come to Brazil each year from every corner of the planet. Cariocas are particularly warm and fun loving.
A crash course on Portuguese will come in handy. Although it is true that many Brazilians understand and can speak Spanish, it is not their native language and may offend some Cariocas. Other than that, most Brazilians will go out of their way to help a tourist navigate the city. Rio is indisputably a city–with all the attendant traffic and bustle. But the life that inspires the Rio driver to make three lanes where there were only meant to be two also coaxes an impromptu samba from tired legs and drives that most renowned of all Rio events, Carnival. What color mother nature hasn’t already supplied, the local Cariocas will invent. Nothing is spared for this festival of senses.
