My friends, I am not talking about America, there is a nice 4 bedroom house with separate bathroom and restroom and a huge living room, nice kitchen everything has been remodeled to perfection! Plus a Garage !! but the economy in the city that the house is being sold is down and no one wants to buy! all relaters have been informed of this house and it’s all over the internet but still no buyers. is there any other tips that you all can help me with to sell this house ?
We recently had our kitchen remodeled recently, and the floor was completely torn out. There is a “basement”, not a real one tho. It is like a mud pit. I don’t know if this is why or what, but i need help on how to get rid of them. Driving me crazy!!!!

I am buying a 20yr old house. I plan to live there for 5 yrs. It is a colonial model house in a neighborhood with schools. All houses are around that age. The house has good floor plan. It has the original bathrooms and kitchen.
Is it a must to remodel the bathrooms and/or kitchen in order to be able to sell it after 5 years? if I spend $10,000 on bathrooms/kitchen will I get that money back when I sell it?

I work for a church. Three years ago the church bought a house.
1)The original purchase price is an asset on the books and is not depreciated.
2)Immediately upon purchase the church made extensive repairs to the foundation. These repairs were added to the original cost and have not been depreciated.
3)Now, in year three, the church has put in a new roof and remodeled the kitchen.
Should any or all of these items be depreciated? We aren’t concerned with tax consequences (we don’t pay taxes), but how, according to GAAP, these items should be treated.
Me and my family just moved into a 3000 square foot 1960’s home. It smells horribly of old home and smoke!! we already remodeled the kitchen, and got dehumidifiers for the basement. The people who lived here before refinished the wood floors 5 years ago and the walls were all painted white. we have had our A/C fixed, but we haven’t cleaned the ducts yet. any suggestions on how to get rid of this god awful smell?
We are remodeling are kitchen and will be selling the three bedroom house in the near feature. How important is it to replace the old dishwasher? Or it be better to put a new cupboard there. We are putting in all new cabinets. Thanks for your input,Wendy
We just bought a condo from the original owner. I first smelled a slight burning/fruity/perfumey smell when we inspected it, but it didnt completely turn me off. Since buying, we suspected maybe she smoked. Its hard to say- the smell is really weird and faint- like a country/perfume/smoke smell. Now, we think it was the fireplace or something that smelled smokey. But, the condo smells like the old owner. Even my husband took down some sheetrock from the Dining room to put in some electrical wires, and i smelled a peice of the inside of the sheetrock, and it had that perfumey smell. So, its even inside the walls… Its not horrendous, and we are getting a HEPA whole house air cleaner installed soon, as were not moved in yet- but every time i come over here i smell it. (her).
BTW- we painted the whole place, even closets, refinished the wood floors, and remodeled the kitchen. Its in the walls. It tends to go away once we open the windows and i have a carbon filter i run which helps too.
i will be attemtping to sell my home this spring. the above mentioned needs replacing very badly. although i’d like to use the vinyl or aluminum, it is very costly and a friend of mine is going to use wood and paint it and put up the necessary ventilations “thingys”. (sorry, idk what they are called.)
although he has done many things for me, like lay ceramic tile, re-done my HW floors and such and done a great job, i just wonder how difficult the above will be?
has anyone done it and what did you think of it afterwards?
please don’t suggest i hire a company to do it, they gave me a quote of over $3000 and i cannot afford it.
thanks for any feedback.
