My Room Is Such An Odd Shape! Remodel Help!?

I have a really odd room shape. It has all of these angles and I have like no room. I really need a desk, I mean i’m in school and still doing homework in my noisy kitchen!
I have bay windows in my room which means a lot of wasted space. Is there anything I could do about that?
Can someone give me some tips? Should I get someone professional to come and remodel?

I Need Help Picking Out Carpet Padding And Want To See A Round About Price For It?

Ok so we are refinishing my grandmothers basement. One half of the basement was previously used as a bedroom and has tile flooring put down the other half is just concrete. She wants to lay carpet on the side with concrete and I need help figuring out what type of carpet padding I should be looking at and about what the price range would be. The space is 14 x 17. Thank you ahead of time!

I Have A Mouse In The Kitchen!!! Help?

I live in a second floor apartment with restaurants and commercial property on the first floor. I just saw a mouse run across the kitchen floor and I’m freaked…because we live next to (if not directly facing) the garbage alley that we take out the trash and wash our dishes on a daily basis…the apartment itself was remodeled right before we moved in…I don’t know what’s going on…please help…what can I do to permanently eliminate the mouse problem and what/where might be its origin?

Help Please! Stains On Porcelain Tiles?

I’ve just had timber floors laid in one of the rooms, the rest of the house having porcelain tiles. There are all sorts of stains on the porcelain tiles that are not coming off including the moisture seal, stain for the timber, paint and gloss. I’ve tried methylated spirits, baking soda and bleach. Nothing seems to work. Please help me.

Help W/my Kitchen! What Is An Alternative Countertop To Granite That Is Just As Nice, Yet Not As Expensive?

I like granite, but it’s too traditional for me. Also, I know that a lot of people don’t consider it an upgrade anymore because it has become so popular. I want to put equity into my home and I’m not sure that in 5 yrs when I want to sell it, that granite will be as profitable then as it is now. I did here that silestone was becoming a new alternative, but I was also thinking about stained concrete countertops or butcher block. My cabinets are white and a few have glass in the doors. This will be a DIY project so any tips would be appreciated. Also, what color do you think would work best with the cabinets (paint and countertops)?
I plan on doing a neutral back splash like this or something like this, preferably the long tiles that look like stone bricks: http://www.burkesfloorcovering.com/backs…
The floor will be a dark handscraped hardwood like this: http://img.diytrade.com/cdimg/698642/644…
or brick pavers for flooring like this:http://www.theportstonestore.com/images/…
I have also thought about doing a butcher block countertop like this, and I think it will look great with the hardwood floor:http://www.spekva.dk/graphics/interface/…
here is a pic of the kitchen we are remodeling, none of this is my personal style, this is from when the previous owners had it:http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2457/3876…
As you can see, it is small. We plan on putting in stainless steel appliances, and getting rid of the saloon doors. My personal style is more like Anthropologie or french country or shabby chic, i love vintage stuff.
I know this is a lot of information, but I would love any input!! Especially pictures

A Few Problems With My Dogs, Need Help!

OK, I have a 13-14 yr old female Golden, Heather, a 4-5 yr old female Great Dane, Princess, and a 6-7 month old male Pug/Malteaze (I probably didn’t spell that right) mutt, Rascal.
My first problem is with Rascal. He urinates everywhere. He does have blatter control. He’s proven that by holding it when he’s on tile, or when an adult is there, but the instant he is on carpet, and he doesn’t think an adult isn’t there, he’ll go whenever. He doesn’t even stop to squat or lift his leg(like he’ll do outside) he’ll go while running around, jumping, laying down. The only reason I know he does half of this is because he’ll do it infront of my lil sister, the spots I keep on having to clean up, and the guilty look he gives me when he knows he’s in trouble. I’m not sure what to do, he had better control when I first got him.
He also won’t stop barking, it’s gotten to the point I’ve been thinking about having his voice box removed but I really don’t want to do that. I’ve tried using one of those collars that sprays a lemon scent in his face when he barks. He didn’t like it, but he barked anyway. He killed the battery on the thing in a matter of days. I really need help with this one as I need to be able to sleep at night.
I also can’t walk him because he’ll suffocate himself. H’s pulls on the leash so much that he chokes himself and he’ll do it till he drops. He’s done that ever since I got him 4 months ago.
Next is my Great Dane. Princess is a great guard dog and very smart. The problem is that she likes to run off. She’s already figured out how to get out of a harness and choke chain, and she keeps on breaking chain leashes. She’ll come back to the house within ten minutes and then will try to hide because she knows she wasn’t supposed to do it.
She’ll also raid the trash and counters when people aren’t looking, and will once again try to hide when we find the mess. We’ve tried a shock collar on her, but she just shakes off the shock.
Lastly there’s Heather, my old girl. She’s a good girl, she just has a licking habbit. She’ll lick her paws bleeding raw. I’ve tried bitter apple, hot peppers and a number of other thing, but she likes them all. I bandage her up but she rips them off.
I think I got the basics of it all, if there’s anything else someone would like to know about their behavior I’d be happy to answer. I just really need help.

6 Month Old Mini Dachshund Doesn’t Like Cold Floors? Help!?

My 6-month-old male Miniature Dachshund has been doing very well with Obedience training. The only problem is that I’ve been training him on carpeted flooring. When he’s asked to perform simple tasks (i.e. Sit, Lay Down, Roll Over, etc) on concrete or tile floor, it’s like he has no idea what I’m talking about. I’ve figure that it’s because he doesn’t like the feel of the cold floor, and he’s just being stubborn (as Dachshund’s are known for being) — but what good is a well-trained dog if he will only listen to me while he’s on carpeted flooring?
Is there anything I can do, to make him listen to me regardless of the floor type? Or is there, perhaps, some way to make the floor a little less cold, so that he’d be a little more willing to obey?
Thanks in advance!

Short Story Help (first Paragraph Already Written)?

Cold, filmy drops of water fell steadily from the rusty faucet. The constant beat of them hitting the porcelain basin was rhythmic, like a pianist keeping time on a metronome. A stagnant pool of liquid had been slowly collecting in the sink for days; the leaky faucet had not been serviced in much longer than that.
Off in the far corner of the bathroom there lay a cracked shampoo bottle, its contents spilled and drying on the cheap linoleum tile. This bathroom scene screamed panic. Something wasn’t right here. In fact, nothing had been right since that God-awful night several days ago…
Where do I go from here? I dont want to include anything with rape or like a teen missing her boyfriend or anything to that effect. I want it to be profoud, and good.
ideas!
