we are remodeling my kitchen, and i picked a dark sandy colored tile for the floor. i am going for a natural look. while i was away, my husband grouted the tiles stark white. it totally looks terrible. is there any way to color it or stain it a color to match now ? or is it too late?
For the past week we have been remodeling our master bathroom, the tiles looked great when we laid them in our double shower, tiles go up to the ceiling. Hubby working 3rd shift this week, decided when he woke up yesterday, kinda cranky, to start grouting the shower tiles. Which was ok with me, So I went after him 15 minutes later to start wiping it down with the sponge and water. then he noticed that the tiles (which look like natural stone) in the little holes, the grout would not come out. So he had me wipe down again and again, but to our dismay it never did come out. Now the next day the grout is lighter and the grout stuck in the tile itself is very light, original was a goldish colored grout. Now i have a disgusting shower that looks like someone splattered white paint on the tiles. Thank you for any suggestions….ohhh and by the way I am not going to divorce my husband for messing up..lol!!! Although I was in tears last night.

We are remodeling our kitchen floor with white marble tile. The tiles have streaks of grey through them. I don’t think we want white grout, but is grey appropriate?
Hello,
We just laid a 12″ porcelain tile floor. We now need to grout using sanded grout. HOW do you do that. I have the grout tools with the sponge applicator and all but I am just not sure HOW to do it.
Do you put the grout into the grooves with a putty knife and then smooth out with the tools or what?
How long before you can walk on the tile after grout…
I sure appreciate any help you all can give me.
God bless!
I have installed 16 x 16″ tile around my shower and backsplash in my bathroom. The edges of the tiles are contoured (wavy), so I don’t have a smooth edge/space between each tile. Some spaces are less than 1/8″ and some are greater due to how the contours of each tile met when they were laid. SO….should I go with sanded or non-sanded grout in this situation?? Thanks!
I have recently had the floor of my bathroom laid with slate effect tiles (not real slate). The grout was not washed off properly when still wet and has left a “bloom” on the textured surfaces of the tiles and got into every little crenulation.I have tried cleaning them with water to very little effect. What is the most effective way of removing this without damaging the tile surface or the grout between each tile?
hi i have just had some ceramic tiles laid in my bathroom and the grout is cracking in certain places how can i stop this.
We just laid new ceramic tile but in the process of grouting, we made a huge mess on the top of the ceramic tiles!! Any ideas on how to clean?
THANKS in advance!
I recently had some ceramic tiles laid in my bathroom. Due to illness the plasterer came after the floor had been laid. The plasterer then managed to get plaster dust in the wet grout and now it just looks a mess. I have asked him to resolve this. He wants to clean the grout with ‘brick acid’ rather than regrout the tiles. I am really concerned about this and the potential damage it could do to the new tiles. Can anyone advise me on the best course of action- is this acid ok to use on ceramic tiles? Many thanks
I’m laying them down with a 1/4 inch grout line for inner tiles. It’s a basement floor and one wall is wood with a 2×4 plate against the floor. The other walls are stone foundation. I’m not sure if I should make a 1/4 inch grout line between the edge tile and the wall, or if I should put the tile tight up against the wall.
What do you do?
