we are remodeling my kitchen, and i picked a dark sandy colored tile for the floor. i am going for a natural look. while i was away, my husband grouted the tiles stark white. it totally looks terrible. is there any way to color it or stain it a color to match now ? or is it too late?
I have a small kitchen. Just enough for a table, sink, fridge and oven. The floor was covered a long time ago with 12″ x 12″ sticky tiles. They look old as dirt. I don’t want a big project. Can I install newer 12″ x 12″ tiles on top of them? I am talking about the sticky kind. They have them at home depot. A couple of them look decent enough for what I want to accomplish. What would I use to prepare the floor surface (the old sticky tiles) so the new ones will stick? Or do I need to make a big project and rip off the old ones (I hope not)? I do not have the time to lay down anything other than the vinyl type. Thanks!
i am trying to lay a door threshold crossing carpet and tile. the floor beneath is concrete. I have tried screwing into the fllo between the carpet and tile – but the screw doesnt hold and can just be pulled out. What is the best way?
thanks
Okay so obviously I’m not asking for a whole analysis on this because it’s far too detailed/ridiculous for every detail to mean something, I’m just asking for a simple breakdown of the meanings of colours, objects, actions, etc in dreams and what they could mean in this case.
It started with me sitting in the back seat of a pickup truck (with no one driving it) speeding down a deserted highway in broad daylight. I started freaking out, screaming, trying to climb into the front seat and stop the car when all of a sudden the vehicle went through and underpass. Then, out of nowhere, I was no longer in the truck. I was now laying on my back in dewy grass. The area was very Alice In Wonderland-esque, a forest of pretty trees surrounding a grassy clearing in the woods, with a long rectangular tea table in the middle. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING (the trees, the grass) was purple, except the tea table and chairs, they were white. I saw a little castle in front of the teatime setup. It was very fairytale-like. It looked like it could have been made out of candy. And it was also purple. Then a tall, pretty but not beautiful woman came out of the castle. She was like a more over-the-top version of Marie Antoinette, with huge hair and a big fluffy (purple) 18th century dress. She had thick white makeup on with a heart-shaped beauty mark on her cheek and violet lipstick. She had many courtiers and servant with her, also in purple 18th century French outfits. She was very sweet and caring, welcoming me into the mini-castle. When I got in there, she offered me anything I wanted, and then giggled and proceeded to have fun with her courtiers. I saw a boy sitting in the corner, and approached him. He was not in 1700s garb, but rather a grey sweatshirt with the hood on, over RobinHood-esque tights, with a pan flute on a chain around his neck. I tried to talk to him, but he was depressed and wouldn’t speak much, other than telling me that I could never go home, the other people wouldn’t let me. He put his arm around me and we sobbed together, looking out the window as it got dark, wishing we could go home. Then the “queen” like lady interrupted us and told me to go put some other clothes on. I went into another room and some servants gave me some old fashioned clothing. I motioned for the boy to come into the room with me (so maybe we could escape) and he came into the room, but all of a sudden the scene ended.
I then found myself in my bathroom (of my house), laying on the tile floor. Then, I heard my parents socializing outsite the bathroom door. I opening it, and there was standing one of my friends, saying “what took you so long?” as if nothing had even happened. Then my dream ended and I woke up.
Ok I know that’s detailed and nonsensical, but could someone maybe decode the little things like : the forest? the overuse of the colour purple? the 18th century theme? the queen/servants? the speeding vehicle? etc. thank you.
the ground is tile if that makes a difference.
My kitchen has a pink Cori-an counter top, oak cabinets and a taupe vinyl floor. We just replaced the relic appliances with new stainless steel ones, but we don’t want to do a major remodel right now. I can change the back splash and the paint. Any suggestions? Our style is “2 small boys with lots of toys…”
Hi there,
I’m at the last stages of having my Log Fire place up and running which is exciting but before I screw my Cast Iron Fire Surround to the chimney breast I need to lay the slate tiles on the floor that I am using for my fire hearth… My question is….
What do I need to use to stick these slate tiles down (I know that you can’t just use Tile Grout due to the heat of the log fire so I could do with some help from you)
Thank you for your time

my dog has had one too many accidents in probably almost every room of my 2 story house. I have had them cleaned professionaly and still just feel gross about it. I have now started ripping out my carpet and found that the floor underneath is wood, but it is very gross looking and would like to lay some wood looking tile over top. How is the world would I start this process? Would like to do it myself to save some money since I have a lot of house to do.
Thanks for you help!
Laying floor tiles! Never saw the complication in it!! My floor is just made out of rubbish cheap mdf wood!! I live in a housing association house!! Is it ok to lay ceramic tiles on top of that? Will they stick?I thought is ok but my aunt just came round and said she put hers directly onto concrete and she said she doesn’t think u can put them on wood. I thought it doesn’t make a difference. Who is correct?
I have removed nasty old carpet from the small hallway bathroom, found concrete underneath. I plan on laying down those self-adhesive vinyl tiles in its place, but the concrete is uneven in some places. Do I need to fix this, and how? And I don’t want to do anything that would be messy, it’s just a small bathroom, and we just put down new carpet outside, and I don’t want to risk getting anything on it. Any advice? Thanks!
