Would I Be Able To Finish My Basement Myself?

Looked into finishing a 500 sq foot basement and can’t afford it right now. I was wondering if it’s something I can do myself, however. E.g., I’m somewhat handy, though don’t have a great deal of experience, but it seems like a relatively simple thing to lay subfloor and then tile or pergo, and hang drywall. Getting a ceiling up concerns me a bit, and i’d need an electrician for the wiring, but for the most part it seems like I can do the bulk of the work myself. Is this overambitious? My basement is pretty dry so I’m not concerned about moisture problems. I know this is sort of a vague question; i just generally want to know whether setting up floors/walls/a ceiling; all very basic, is particularly tricky or something the average person can do with enough research and some elbow grease.

I Have A Floor Furnace In My Kitchen That Does Not Work. How Can I Enclose It To Be Able To Put Tile Over It?

We have a vent where the floor furnace use to be. We are wanting to put tile down in our kitchen instead of the flooring that is there now. I want so way to take the vent off the floor and lay something down to enclose it so that it’s safe to walk over and that we can put the tile over so the kitchen floor will look the same all the way around.

I Screwed Up The Floor Underlayment Before Installing Vinyl Tile. I Wasn’t Able To Smooth It Before It Dried.

My question is: will I have to sand it down? There are several small ridges about 1/4 inch high. What will happen if I just lay the tile over it?

I Want To Lay Down Tile, But The Floor Slopes One Inch Will It Still Be Able To Have Tile On The Floor Or Carp

My husband tiled our dining area and we had the same problem. He used a flooring cement product and a level to ensure the floor was even before laying the tiles. Tiles will wobble and could crack if you leave a one inch variance in the floor.
