I Need An Expert To Answer Two Questions:?

1) if I have greenboard within my shower do I still need backerboard to apply the shower tile? my tiles are 12×12.
2) i am laying laminate flooring and I have the underlay. the existing floor is somewhat worn but even that floor sits on top of the subfloor (pulled up old tile, linoleum, etc.) – need to put down another floor before applyling the laminate – my question is – can I use OSB or do I have to use plywood?

    1) Backer board is the best solution and will make your tile job last much longer.
    2) You will most likely not need to replace the sub-floor, but you may be required to use a liquid “leveler” to fill in low spots in the original floor. Your home center can advise you on the best product.

    1) Protect your greenboard with a coat of plaster of paris
before fixing your tiles and seal the joints well.
    2) Take everything out. Fix marine ply with proper leveling.
Now cover with laminate, wood veener or tiles.
    Choice is yours.
