6 Month Old Mini Dachshund Doesn’t Like Cold Floors? Help!?

My 6-month-old male Miniature Dachshund has been doing very well with Obedience training. The only problem is that I’ve been training him on carpeted flooring. When he’s asked to perform simple tasks (i.e. Sit, Lay Down, Roll Over, etc) on concrete or tile floor, it’s like he has no idea what I’m talking about. I’ve figure that it’s because he doesn’t like the feel of the cold floor, and he’s just being stubborn (as Dachshund’s are known for being) — but what good is a well-trained dog if he will only listen to me while he’s on carpeted flooring?
Is there anything I can do, to make him listen to me regardless of the floor type? Or is there, perhaps, some way to make the floor a little less cold, so that he’d be a little more willing to obey?
Thanks in advance!

I have a mini doxie that I rescued. I have never had one before so have had to learn about them. My vet said they have a very hard time keeping warm and that clothing is almost a requirement, even shoes. Your little one might need a little something put on to keep the shock of the cold floor from distracting him from doing your commands.
It is very difficult to find clothing to buy doxies so I finally set about making some for mine. I took one of my daughters old sweatshirts (about a size 10-12) and cut the sleeves off of it. I folded it so the seam was even and would run under her belly. I cut a small rectangle about 2 1/2 inches wide so when it was opened, there was about a 5 inch opening for her legs.
I put the cuff part over her head and just pulled the sleeve down the length of her body. It was a perfect fit! I folded the cuff in half on her neck which makes it look like a turtle neck.
My doxie loves it. She isn’t shivering so much any more. Size wise she is 7.5 pounds and measures 12 inches long from the base of her neck to the base of her tail.
You can do all sorts of thing for your little guy…maybe get a camo sweatshirt or your favorite sports team or???

My chihuahuas hate cold floors also, but only the short haired ones. Maybe he’d mind you better if he wore a doggie coat.

Dogs are scared of anything new to them. The floor is scaring him. Get him slowly used to it.

I have an italian greyhound who had to bring her towel to class for a few weeks. She also disliked the concrete floors and refused to cooperate. The trainer suggested this and it worked, After a couple of weeks we worked her off of it.
